Standard Specifications

Dealer Notes

PRIOR RENTAL To Nissan's credit, the 2018 Altima does have some useful enhancements. A forward collision notification system with automatic emergency braking is standard on all trim levels, and the upgraded infotainment display now includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Other than that Altima carries over unchanged from 2016's minor update, which included enhancements to the grille and headlight and taillight designs and new safety features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The Altima's engine lineup remains the same, and that's a good thing as the Altima offers some of the highest mileage figures in the class. And although the Altima's overall interior feels stale, its uniquely designed front seats remain as sublimely comfortable today as when they debuted on the Altima back in 2013. The Nissan Altima's standard safety features include antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. A rearview camera is standard on 2.5 S trims and above. SV and SL trims also receive blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alert systems. Forward collision warning and crash mitigation systems with automatic emergency braking are available only on SL trims. The available NissanConnect Services system includes automatic collision notification, emergency assistance and stolen-vehicle location services. In government crash testing, the Altima earned a top five-star rating for overall crash protection, with five stars for both front- and side-impact crash protection and four stars for rollover protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Altima its top rating of Good in tests for small- and moderate-overlap front-impact, side-impact, roof strength and whiplash mitigation (seats and head restraints). It also received a Superior grade for its forward collision prevention system but only a score of Marginal (second-worst) for ease of use of its child seat anchors. The Altima 2.5 in base trim includes 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, keyless remote entry, push-button ignition, full power accessories, air-conditioning, cloth upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver seat (four-way-adjustable front passenger seat), 60/40-split folding rear seats, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a four-speaker sound system with a CD player, and Nissan's Easy-Fill Tire Alert system that flashes the lights and beeps the horn to indicate when the tires reach the correct pressure. The 2.5 S trim adds automatic headlights, cruise control, keyless ignition and entry, Siri Eyes Free voice recognition for iPhone users, a rearview camera, and a six-speaker sound system with a 5-inch display, a USB port and basic NissanConnect smartphone app integration. The sporty SR trim upgrades the 2.5 S with 18-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, foglights, a rear spoiler, a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters, sport seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat (with two-way power lumbar adjustment). Compared to the 2.5 S, the SV trim has 17-inch alloy wheels, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, remote engine start, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-zone automatic climate control and satellite radio. The 2.5 SL adds a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated front seats, air vents for the rear seats, a four-way power front passenger seat, two-way adjustable front headrests, ambient interior lighting and a premium Bose nine-speaker sound system. The 3.5 SL gets 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, paddle shifters, front and rear parking sensors, a larger 7-inch color touchscreen, voice commands, and a navigation system with Google connectivity. Some features are available on lower trims as options, either in packages or as stand-alone items, and include a sunroof, heated mirrors and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. SL trims can add bundled Technology packages that include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and enhanced NissanConnect services with emergency telematics. The Nissan Altima is available with either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine. The four-cylinder produces 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with simulated gears to feel more like a conventional automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 31 mpg combined (27 city/39 highway). The 2.5 SR drops slightly to 30 mpg combined (26 city/37 highway). Nissan has done well historically with continuously variable transmissions (CVT), and the Altima continues that tradition. The CVT is more responsive when you press on the gas pedal compared to its competitors, and the simulated stepped gears reduce some of the engine drone that others suffer from. Buyer to verify all equipment stated for accuracy before purchase. Second key, floor mats, and owners manual may not be available on all pre-owned vehicles. Not responsible for typos.

  • Absolutely love my Altima!

I traded in my 2014 Ford Focus in for a 2016 Altima SV back in December of 2016. Bought it brand new with 54 miles on the odometer and it now sits at about 29,200 miles. I absolutely love this vehicle. I had been wanting a bigger vehicle than my Focus for so long, and the Focus had the infamous DCT issues and did not want to deal with it being in the shop more than it was on the road. I have driven nearly 30,000 miles in about a year in this car travelling to Oklahoma, Louisiana, and even Florida(which was 983 miles one way). The gas mileage is amazing. I normally get 31mpg with city and highway miles. On the Florida trip, I got 38mpg and went about 660 miles on ONE TANK!!! My Focus would have been lucky to get 350 miles on a single tank! The 2.5L is an amazing engine linked with the CVT. Strong, continuous accelerations. Takes about 7.7 seconds to go from 0-60mph which is super amazing for its size and it being a 4 cylinder. I also looked for comfort since the seats in the Focus werent all that great and I have sciatic nerve issues. Many people suggested the Altima because of the comfortable seats. I love the safety features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and backup camera. Another thing that is really nice is that in most cars with sunroofs, the roof is really low. I am 6ft 2in tall and my head would nearly always touch the roof of some cars with sunroofs so I never wanted a car with a sunroof. After being able to fit in my Altima that has a sunroof, it is amazing. Like I said earlier, the seats are really comfortable. I love the remote start. The seats are also a microfiber type of cloth which makes clean up easy (I am super OCD about the cleanliness of my car). I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a stylish, quick, safe, comfortable, and reliable car.
  • Great looking, Very Comfortable, A little sluggish

My Silver 2013 Nissan Altima is a great looking car, inside and out. The leather seats are very comfortable. The car is a great value for what comes with it. I purchased it from AutoLenders and the car was in great shape, coming off a three year lease. It had 25,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. Ive had the car for 1 1/2 years and I still really like it. GREAT fuel efficiency. My two dislikes are: 1.) the transmission shifts in an odd way and its a bit sluggish when accelerating 2.) the bose sound system has been a bit disappointing with the speakers vibrating at moderate volume levels. Overall, Im pleased with my purchase.

I traded my 2006 Altima in for the 2018 and right off the bat during the test drive, I was sold on the zero gravity seats. They are by far the most comfortable car seats I have ever been in. It runs really quiet and the feel on the road is pretty amazing. I love my car and I would 10/10 get it again! The sound system is pretty basic - I have the base model. I probably should have gotten the Bose sound system with it, but nothing that cant be fixed in the future. One thing Im still messing around with is the ability to adjust settings of the car. I can choose to make the lights go off immediately I turn the car off, or choose when I want the doors unlocked (either when I move the gear to P or turn the car off). Its like messing with my new toy - I like this car a lot!
