Dealer Notes

LEMON LAW BUYBACK/BRANDED TITLE The Pacifica replaces the Town & Country, which had the esoteric distinction of being the only production vehicle with an ampersand in its name. The Caravan, with a production history stretching back five generations to 1983, was the original front-drive minivan (along with the Plymouth Voyager). It also was Dodges longest-lived, continuously produced model. The seven- or eight-passenger Pacifica is optimized for that life stage between discovering a baby is on the way and when that child has grown enough to develop a smart mouth and win the occasional logical argument. To stave off the moment the minivan stigma kicks in, Chrysler overdosed on styling flourish. The excess mostly works, and the Pacifica is one of the best-looking van bodies ever plopped atop four wheels. Building on current Chrysler styling themes, its heavily sculpted, with character lines that swoop, soar, and droop with the reckless abandon of a 10-year-old using a French-curve tool for the first time. Despite the riot of lines, its particularly good in profile with the tail tapering back to a rear window that simulates a wraparound effect. 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th gears are all over drive, and the Pacificas numbers 18/28- mpg, however, easily beat the Town & Countrys 17/25-mpg figure. Amazingly through the blizzard of new tech and safety equipment the Pacifica brings, the most impressive item is still Chryslers superclever Stow n Go second-row seats that drop into the floor to expand cargo capacity. Yeah, the new 8.4-inch touchscreen in the superswoopy dash is coolbut these screens are pretty ordinary now. Meanwhile, those drop-down seats are still a Chrysler exclusive, now operable at the push of a button. Those seats are complemented by a new-to-Chrysler onboard-vacuum system thats mounted midship so that it can reach every dropped Cheetoh Car and Driver http://www.caranddriver.com/chrysler/pacifica says "Its an all-new minivan, with a new nameand by our estimate, its also the best. As a family hauler, safety is key; Chrysler boasts of more than 100 standard and available features including a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision alert. Stow n Go seats are standard; a built-in vacuum is on the top model. The sole engine is a 287-hp V-6 with a 9-speed automatic; a hybrid comes later, with an electric-only range of 30 miles" The Pacifica packs some cool new optional features, too, including a dual-screen rear entertainment system, automatic emergency braking, a built-in vacuum cleaner and an automated parallel and perpendicular parking system. The Chrysler Pacifica minivan comes in five trim levels: LX, Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus and Limited. The Pacifica Hybrid will be sold as Touring and Limited Platinum, but check back later for complete information on the hybrid. Starting things off is the Pacifica LX with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, seven-passenger seating, folding/collapsible second-row seats ("Stow 'n Go"), a 60/40-split folding third-row seat, an eight-way power driver seat, three-zone climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an electric parking brake, a 5-inch center touchscreen display, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, voice commands, Uconnect Access and a six-speaker sound system with USB and auxiliary inputs Moving up to the Touring gets you those features plus power sliding rear doors and satellite radio. The midgrade Touring-L adds on a power liftgate, fancier exterior trim, foglights, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, LED taillights, a security alarm, automatic climate control (three-zone), leather seating, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and added storage for the first-row floor console. You get even more with the Touring-L Plus. Its features include the above plus upgraded headlights, an eight-way power driver seat, an upgraded driver information display, ambient interior lighting, second- and third-row sunshades, heated second-row seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a 13-speaker sound system and a second-row rear entertainment system with dual 10-inch touchscreens, a Blu-ray player and additional USB and HDMI inputs. Finally, there's the Limited. The entertainment system is optional here but otherwise it has all of the above, plus 18-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate and sliding door functionality (late availability), two sunroofs (panoramic for the first two rows and an additional fixed sunroof above the third row), xenon headlights, LED foglights and power-folding mirrors. On the inside you get driver memory settings, upgraded ambient interior lighting, a navigation system, upgraded leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, an in-vehicle vacuum cleaner and power-folding functionality for the third-row seat. Every Chrysler Pacifica comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that develops 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. That power is sent to the front wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Automatic engine stop-start functionality (to help save gas when you're not moving) will be added midway through the model year. Standard safety equipment for the Pacifica includes traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, side curtain airbags, front seat side airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags and a rearview camera. The antilock brake system also includes a couple extra features, including periodic brake-rotor drying in rainy conditions and automatically snugging the brake pads to the rotors when the driver abruptly lifts off the gas. The subscription-based Uconnect Access service includes emergency assistance, remote door locking/unlocking and vehicle location services. Rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional for the LX and Touring (SafetyTec Group package) and standard on all other Pacificas. If you're backing up in a Pacifica, the rear parking sensors have automatic low-speed braking functionality that can be applied when an object is detected and the driver takes no action. The Pacifica also packs Chrysler's latest tech hardware. If you can, get the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen. Uconnect is one of our favorite infotainment systems because of its crisp and clear graphics, quick processing and easy-to-use nature. If you do a lot of road trips with your kids, you'll enjoy opting for the new "Uconnect Theater" rear entertainment system. Besides having Blu-ray disc playback for the two 10-inch touchscreens mounted in the back of the front seats, the system also includes the ability to individually input various devices (smartphones, gaming consoles) and has a few built-in apps and games as well. One thing carried over from last year is the useful folding/collapsible second-row captain's chair seats, which Chrysler calls "Stow 'n Go." If you frequently need to switch from carrying people to hauling cargo, they are invaluable. Without much effort, you can individually fold the second-row seats and then store them in under-floor compartments (which can also be used for storage if you have the seats deployed). In the third row is the class-typical 60/40-split third-row seat. It's more comfortable for adults than the old T&C's seat, though, and the Pacifica now has the most supportive and comfy seats in its class. When you don't need the third-row seat, you can fold it down into a rear storage area. Power operation is an exclusive feature of the Limited trim level; just push a button and the individual seat sections can be raised or lowered in about 17 seconds. Behind the third-row seats, the Pacifica offers 32.3 cubic feet of luggage space. Fold those seats down and 87.5 cubic feet becomes available. Maximum cargo capacity is 140.5 cubes. These capacities are typical for the latest batch of minivans. The Pacifica boasts an agreeably smooth and quiet ride. Whether you're driving around town or heading out for a week-long road trip, the Pacifica will keep you and your passengers comfortable. It's also impressively quiet at highway speeds thanks to minimal amounts of wind, road and engine noise Also, see http://www.chrysler.com/en/pacifica/ Buyer to verify all equipment stated for accuracy before purchase. • Excellent choice....

So I needed a work vehicle and based on experience with the Grand Caravan--I traded my Ram pickup in on a new Pacifica Limited. My job involved regular driving between and within 3 states. I knew Chrysler vans were comfortable and reasonably economical and could haul what my work required. At 6 foot 3 inches and 280 solid--I needed something comfortable and the Pacifica has delivered. The technology exceeds that in my Mercedes SUV and it drives comfortably and handles competently on the 20 wheels and tires. The leather interior and options make for comfortable travel regardless of weather and the safety tech is useful. In almost 13 months Ive covered 18000 miles and have had no significant problems. Gas mileage is low to mid 20s on average and highway mileage is considerably higher. I thoroughly recommend this van! The only reason I gave 9s for quality and reliability is due to owning it for 12 months and 18000 miles.
  • Great vehicle for road trips!

We have had our Pacifica for 15 months. During that time it has been back and forth from our home in MN to our Florida destination. This is a wonderful vehicle for traveling. The stow and go seats provide great flexibility. It handles well and has very comfortable seats. It is a very refined vehicle that gets great gas mileage. On our road trips we get close to 30 miles per gallon at interstate speeds. We have the safety tech package, which we feel is a great safety enhancement. We have had no service issues since we purchased it. Routine maintenance at Chrysler dealerships is much less expensive than what we experienced at Lexus dealerships with previously owned RX350s. Our only regret is the lack of an AWD option.
  • Sold an Odyssey

Traded in a 2016 Honda after several test drives of the new Pacifica. We were not even looking to buy a new car, just stopped in a dealer looking for something to do on a rainy evening. The handling, power, comfort and overall features were just better than the Honda at the time. We loved our Honda, until we drove the Pacifica. Like many we were brainwashed to own the Honda or Toyota, but after having the car now for 2 years I can say that it is the van to own. Recently I Drove the 2019 Odyssey, and while it is nice I think the Pacifica is just better. Plus the Pacifica is just a better looking Van. Important to note: we took it in under warranty twice, interior trim piece kept coming undone do to a smashed metal clip and rear tire developed a bubble on the sidewall. Chrysler Warranty service has been outstanding, replaced tire and fixed clip no questions asked, gave us a loaner van while they did it.
